Alexia Alexandropoulou

Alexia Alexandropoulou is a curator and cultural producer based between Athens and Lisbon.

Recently she has assisted in the STUDIO BETTINA PELZ on the project KUNST.LABOR.STADT.PLATZ in Marburg (de). Before that, she was working at HANGAR Artistic Research Center in Lisbon (pt). Previously, she worked as Curatorial Assistant at the Biennale Matter of Art Prague and the contemporary art initiative tranzit.cz. She has also collaborated with the European Cultural Centre for the exhibition ‘Personal Structures – Identities in the context of the 58th Venice Art Biennale.

The conditions that define her approach curatorially are interdisciplinarity and reflexivity. She is interested in initiating projects that operate as sites of social activation and dialogue and she constantly tries to provoke a feeling of togetherness, within an attempt to rethink the way we are connected to each other.

Alexia is an alumn of the second edition of TASAWAR CURATORIAL STUDIOS and a postgraduate student at HDK-Valand – Academy of Art and Design: Commissioning and Curating Contemporary Public Art. She currently works at Beirut Contemporary, an exhibition space in Lisbon focusing on contemporary art from the Middle East and coordinates ‘TASAWAR Local Art Scenes’, a project of Goethe Institute Tunis.
