Rania Atef

Rania Atef is a visual artist and art practitioner based in Cairo. She is interested in investigating the infrastructure of social and labor discourses on both individual and collective levels, engaging with the systems and infrastructure of art and cultural institutions in this context.

“I believe that the Art scene should be able to embrace the idea of inclusion more than the existing status. How can we think about finding alternative systems with new infrastructures capable of thinking about the “other” in a broader and comprehensive way? This can be achieved by the existence of different forms of collectivity and forms of self-organization capable of imposing radical changes on the current cultural scene. Hence, searching for ways to expand the term of “Care” through different forms of curatorial practices”
