What is an island? How do islands look, feel, and sound? What do islands do, and where do they go? Multidisciplinary collective Laboratorio Lacustre invites visitors to rethink and reimagine what it means to live on/with/between islands. Based on principles of artistic research, design, and anthropology, the project draws a connection between two sites in which islands play significant cultural, natural, and meaningful roles: Xochimilco, Mexico City (MX), and Archipoli, Rhodes, (GR).
This project is developed by Labroatorio Lacustre collective and curated by TASAWAR fellow Irene Urrutia. It is presented on-site by Art Park Rhodes in Greece, and is supported and virtually disseminated by the TASAWORAT Experimental Curatorial Platform.
